My name is Luca Eberle, and I am a naturalist, photographer, and storyteller.
I was born in 1996 and spent the first years of my life in the countryside of Northern Italy, where I developed a natural curiosity towards nature and wildlife.
As I embarked on my high school journey, I found myself venturing into the bustling urban landscape, which opened a new path for me to explore the art of photography, a new tool that I quickly learned to use and tame at the zoo in my city. From that point on, art and science became intertwined, accompanying me through my university studies in Environmental and Nature Sciences, where I graduated with a thesis on the red-footed falcon (Falco vespertinus) and lesser kestrel (Falco naumanni). During this time, I had the opportunity to travel to over 25 countries and participate in ecological volunteering and conservation projects in Northern Italy, Zambia, and China.
After completing my university course, I began a professional journey dedicated to wildlife photography and scientific dissemination, also collaborating with conservation programs such as LIFE Falkon. Some of my photos have been awarded in national and international competitions, and my scientific and popular articles have been published in industry magazines. I've also collaborated in creating photographic and identification books and regularly hold courses, environmental education activities, seminars, and conferences for parks, schools, universities, and cultural associations.
In 2023, I spent almost the entire year in the forests of Costa Rica, including eight months on the Osa Peninsula, where I collaborated with the NGO "Osa Conservation" in creating short documentaries and photographic reports in one of the areas with the highest biodiversity on the planet. During this time, I had the opportunity to get to know and come into contact with some indigenous communities, which allowed me to delve deeper into many of the political and social aspects linked to conservation in Latin America. Today, photography for me is no longer just a tool to enhance the beauty of nature, but also to tell stories of resistance and conservation, aiming to raise awareness, inspire new generations, and promote sustainable choices to safeguard our fragile and rapidly changing planet.
