Luca Eberle is an Italian naturalist and conservation photographer. After several years working as an ornithologist and field technician on conservation projects focused on birds of prey in northern Italy, he turned to conservation photojournalism and scientific communication.
His work has since taken him around the world to document conservation efforts by researchers and NGOs, mainly in tropical and Mediterranean environments, as well as political issues and forms of environmental exploitation, both within and beyond national borders.
His photographs have been published in specialist publications such as BBC Wildlife and have received awards in international wildlife photography competitions. His work is also accompanied by lectures and seminars in schools and universities. Since 2024, he has been an Associate Fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers.
His photography has evolved from documenting the beauty of nature and moments of scientific interest into an intersectional storytelling tool for conservation and resistance, raising awareness of environmental issues, denouncing the exploitation of natural heritage, and encouraging more sustainable choices on a rapidly changing planet.
